Privacy Policy

1. Overview

PC Trapper (“we”, “our”, or “us”) operates pctrapper.com and the AI Diagnostic Tool. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.

By using our services you agree to the practices described in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

Information you provide directly:

  • Device type and operating system you select in the diagnostic form
  • Problem description you enter (up to 1,000 characters)
  • Email address, if provided during payment or subscription checkout

Information collected automatically:

  • Standard web server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited, timestamps)
  • Stripe customer ID stored in your browser (localStorage) when you subscribe
  • Temporary session data stored in your browser (sessionStorage) during a diagnostic session

We do not collect passwords. We do not store payment card numbers — all payment processing is handled directly by Stripe.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To process your payment or verify your active subscription via Stripe
  • To send your device description to the Anthropic Claude AI API to generate a diagnostic report
  • To operate, maintain, and improve our services
  • To detect and prevent fraudulent or abusive use

We do not use your information for advertising and do not sell it to third parties.

4. Third-Party Services

We share data with the following third parties solely to provide our service:

  • Stripe — payment processing and subscription management. Your payment details go directly to Stripe and are governed by the Stripe Privacy Policy.
  • Anthropic — your device type, OS, and problem description are sent to Anthropic’s Claude API to generate your diagnostic report. This data is governed by the Anthropic Privacy Policy.
  • Vercel — our hosting provider. Standard request logs may be retained per Vercel’s infrastructure policies.

5. Data Retention

We do not maintain a database of your diagnostic inputs or reports. Each request is processed in real time and not stored on our servers after the response is returned.

Stripe retains payment records in accordance with their own retention policies and applicable law.

Browser-stored data (localStorage, sessionStorage) stays on your device and can be cleared at any time through your browser settings.

6. Cookies

We do not use tracking or advertising cookies. Our site uses functional browser storage (localStorage, sessionStorage) to remember your subscription status and form inputs within a session. No data is shared with advertising networks.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Request access to personal data we hold about you
  • Request deletion of your personal data
  • Object to or restrict processing of your personal data
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the information below. Because we do not store diagnostic inputs server-side, the primary data we can act on is your Stripe customer record.

8. Children’s Privacy

Our services are not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted information through our service, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
